This quaint expression gets on my nerves sometimes, so I went googling to get at its’ basis. Curiously, this is what I found:”The Court of Chivalry is said to have defined the period before 1066 as “time immemorial” for the purposes of heraldry.” Why the year 1066? It might be from superstition about Halley’s Comet or maybe the Brits are just wack.

Kvetch Of The Day- ‘On Hold’ Music

Has anyone taken a good listen to the music companies play you while they put you on hold (and laugh at you with their hand cupped over the handset mic)? Chances are the music you are listening to is either (1) second-rate smooth jazz or (2) some long-forgotten Motown one-hit-wonder singing their other song… It doesn’t help that the audio quality is worse than a bad Engelbert Humperdinck cover played through old Airlines headphones (the ones that just won’t fit into a normal headphone jack) My suggestion: give us options for the hold music you play us while you pick your nose hairs.

What’s the use complaining away in private? Long, meandering gripes to sharp, poignant b!&#@’ings…spread the misery around like shmear on a bagel.
